Contractor East Horizon Gas Co, a subsidiary of Oando, has already laid 15km of pipeline in Cross Rivers, following the November, 2008, approval in the state for the project. Following the new Akwa Ibom state approval, Oando will now also commence construction in Akwa Ibom state in time for the planned year-end project completion.
Commenting on the ROW approval, Mr Bolaji Osunsanya, CEO of Oando Gas and Power said, “We are very pleased with the Akwa Ibom ROW approval as it now positions us to meet our target to delivering gas to United Cement Co and other customers by the year end.”
The Oando SE gas pipeline project will connect to the existing Obigbo-Alscon line at Ukanafun and will cross eight major rivers and a number of swamp areas before terminating at the new United Cement Co at Mfamosing.
