Phase 2 included the installation of a new compressor station and electrical substation, the expansion of electric motor divers and compressor units at a New Jersey compressor station, and upgrades to related under- and aboveground facilities.
The project will provide an additional 180,000 dekatherms of natural gas per day to the New Jersey Natural Gas Company – which services more than half a million customers – through the Transco interstate natural gas pipeline system, which comprises 16,415 km of transmission pipeline and 53 compressor stations.
The Transco system has the capacity to transport up to 15 million dekatherms of gas per day from the Gulf Coast, mid-continent and Appalachian supply areas to markets in southeastern, mid-Atlantic and northeastern states in the US.
The system’s mainline extends nearly 2,897 km between South Texas and New York City.
