The DipMate 2 system is a sophisticated information and registration package for dipper dredges, and displays the entire dredging process in real-time, allowing higher production and greater precision when backhoe dredging in shallow waters. The system is a second-generation model, based on the experience gained during the development and use of its predecessor, introduced four years ago.
Displays of the survey profile and required dredging profile are updated continuously as work progresses. Material to be dredged is displayed as a grey, changing to green as the required dredge profile is achieved. System functions include the ability to import survey terrain data and desired dredge profile (both in 3D), and 2-D harbour charts and other line information.
