Finding adequate inspection solutions for unpiggable pipelines is fast becoming an industry priority. For this reason, Clarion and Tiratsoo Technical, a division of Great Southern Press, are organising the Unpiggable Pipeline Solutions Forum, to be held at the Marriott Westchase Hotel, Houston, from 30-31 March 2011.
This two-day Forum will address capabilities and guidance concerning tools for corrosion and mechanical damage inspection of unpiggable oil, gas and hazardous liquids pipelines.
Over the course of the Forum delegates will become familiar with the capabilities and shortcomings of existing technologies as well as those currently in research and development.
Among the presentations on Day 1 of the programme, Pipetel Technologies Inc.’s Rod Lee, InvoDane Engineering’s Paul Laursen, NYSEARCH/Northeast Gas Association’s Daphne D’Zurko, and National Grid’s Kevin Conklin and Joseph Vitelli will review the performance of Explorer II robotic in-line inspection technology for the inspection of small-diameter unpiggable pipelines.
In the afternoon session PECO Energy Co’s T. Mark Andraka and Gas Technology Institute’s Dennis Jarnecke will examine the advancements in keyhole technology and how that technology can be effectively used for various pipeline construction activities, including inspection of existing assets to confirm the remaining wall thickness and pipeline condition.
On Day 2, KTN’s Arild Solberg will report on recent significant projects using innovative multi-technology tethered tools and in the afternoon A.Hak Industrial Services’s Hans Gruitroj will review the new push-pull system for UT inspection of small-diameter branch lines.
