Corinth Pipeworks wins Midia contract

The US$400 million project is taking place at the Ana and Doina gas fields, 120 km offshore Romania in 70 m of water.

It is expected to be commissioned in early 2021 at which point it will produce 1 billion m3 of gas a year, representing 10 per cent of Romania’s consumption.

The development comprises the drilling five production wells, including one Doina and four at Ana, as well as the installation of a subsea production system at Doina.

The subsea gas production system will be tied-back to an unmanned production platform installed at Ana through an 18 km on pipeline.

A 121 km long gas pipeline will transport gas from the Ana platform to an onshore location, while a 4.1 km underground pipeline will deliver the gas transported by the pipeline to a new gas treatment plant.

Corinth Pipeworks will manufacture and supply 8 inch (203 mm) steel pipes for the infield line and 16 inch (406 mm) steel pipes for the offshore gas transport pipeline.

The line pipe will be manufactured during 2019 at the company’s factory in Greece.

Installation work is expected to commence in 2020.
