Henkels & McCoy have been contracted to install spreads 1 and 2, while Michels Corporation will install spreads 3 and 4. Pre-construction inspection and flagging of the construction right-of-way has already commenced and crews have initiated activities at the Sibley Yard on Spread 2 after FERC issued its Authorisation to Use Contractor Yards on 16 April 2010.
The 42 inch diameter interstate natural gas pipeline will have a capacity of 2 Bcf/d of gas and connect to ETP’s dual 42 inch pipeline system near Carthage, Texas, extend through Haynesville Shale and end near Delhi, Louisiana.
The Tiger Pipeline will have interconnects with seven major interstate pipelines that serve the Northeast, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest markets.
Through a planned expansion project announced in February 2010, and subject to FERC approval, the ultimate capacity of the Tiger Pipeline is expected to be 2.4 Bcf/d of gas, which is sold out under long-term contracts ranging from 10 to 15 years.
The Tiger Pipeline is expected to be in service the first half of 2011 and the 0.4 Bcf/d expansion is expected to be in service the second half of 2011.
