Construction commences on new section of Ukhta – Torzhok Pipeline

Currently preparatory works are underway, and mobilisation of machinery is being carried out.

Stroygazmontazh will construct 486 km of the gas pipeline with its total length amounting to 972 km. The 56 inch diameter pipeline will have an operating pressure of 9.8 MPa, with a designed output of 81.5 Bcm/a of gas.

The Ukhta – Torzhok gas pipeline will cross Vologda and Arkhangelsk regions. The construction team will have to perform major HDD crossings of the Malaya Severnaya Dvina, the Libenga and the Sukhona rivers. The length of the crossing under the Libenga River is more than 1,100 m.

Three compressor stations are also being constructed as part of the project: Novoprivodinskaya, Novonyuksenitskaya, and Novoyubileynaya.

Construction on the Ukhta – Torzhok Pipeline commenced in December 2010 and is scheduled to be completed in December 2012.
