The news source cites a report posted on China National Petroleum Corporation’s (CNPC) website, which reportedly states that the pipeline will link gas wells in the Changning block to an existing gas line that leads to neighboring Yunnan Province, and is designed to have a daily transport volume of 4.5 MMcm of gas.
Neither Xinhua nor CNPC specified when the pipeline would be completed.
According to a report recently published by the Energy Information Administration, China ranks first in the world in terms of countries with technically recoverable shale gas resources, with 1,115 Tcf of gas.
