The purchase of these shares increases Buckeye’s ownership interest in West Shore from 18.5% to approximately 25%.
West Shore owns and operates a refined petroleum products pipeline system that originates in the Chicago area and extends north to Green Bay, Wisconsin, and west and then north to Madison, Wisconsin. The pipeline is operated under contract by Citgo Pipeline Co.
Buckeye Partners, through its subsidiary partnerships, is one of the US’ largest independent pipeline common carriers of refined petroleum products, with nearly 6100km of pipeline. The company also operates approximately 2250km of pipelineunder agreement with major oil and chemical companies, and owns terminals in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
