Brazil: Stolt to lay flexible pipe offshore

Stolt said the contract will start in January, 2007. It will use the CS Pertinacia vessel, chartered from Elettra TLC, originally built in Italy (in 2002) as a cable-lay vessel. At the start of the charter period, the vessel will be converted to allow transport and installation of as much as 2,500 tons of flexible flowlines in water depths reaching 2,000m. The investment in the ship conversion and in project-specific equipment will be about $55 million.
