The company cites market conditions as the reason for the decrease.
The new project scope includes a 30 inch diameter pipeline in six loops along the Columbia River Gorge, Washington, United States. The pipeline loops will parallel Northwest’s existing 26 inch mainline for the majority of the route.
Northwest has also decreased the power of proposed compressor stations by approximately 50 per cent.
An official project application for Blue Bridge will be submitted to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in 2010. Construction is set to begin in the first half of 2012, and commercial service to launch in the second half of 2012.
