The company has announced plans to build two additional compressor stations: near Weitendorf (Styria), which will add 3.2bn cum/yr from 2008, and in Eggendorf (Lower Austria), which will add 3.3bn cum/yr from April, 2009. The construction of Eggendorf has been brought forward from 2011 following extensive market studies and negotiations between OMV Gas GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of OMV, and ENI.
The 42-in diameter TAG gas pipeline extends from the Baumgarten gas hub in Lower Austria to Arnoldstein on the Italian border. The 380-km long pipeline delivers gas to Italy, Austria, Croatia, and Slovenia. Currently, its total annual delivery capacity is 37bn cum; in 2007, the capacity will be increased to approximately 41bn cum/yr through the completion of the third stage of the TAG Loop II extension, which is now in progress.
