The company seeks to align the interests of the producer and the contractor by investing in mature offshore oil and gas properties, hub production facilities, and proven undeveloped reserve plays where Helix Energy Solutions Group adds value by deploying vessels from its diverse contracting fleet.
SAS is contracted to design, manufacture, and supply the complete pipe-tensioning system, consisting of three 135-ton pipe tensioners and a 450-ton abandonment and recovery winch, with associated storage reels and sheaves, power unit, and controls. The system will handle coated pipes in the diameter range 6-42in, and is scheduled for delivery the 1st quarter of 2007.
SAS has also received other recent contracts for supplying complete pipe-tensioning systems, which will be manufactured for Acergy, Hind Offshore, India, and Swiber Offshore, Singapore.
