2009 APIA Conference coming soon

All 75 stands at the exhibition have been filled with companies wanting to demonstrate their products to the industry in a space that allows for networking, formal and informal functions.

The official opening of the conference will take place on Sunday October 16 and Queensland Premier Anna Bligh has been invited to give the opening address for the 2009 Convention, which will continue the tradition of bringing together those involved in the pipeline industry, both nationally and internationally, onshore and offshore, and across the range of industry sectors.

Other keynote speakers to address the convention include Director of the Cape York Institute for Policy and Leadership Noel Pearson, Professional Leader, Engineering, National Energy Board of Canada Dr Alan Murray and APIA Director and Welding and Pipeline Integrity Chair Leigh Fletcher.

Over two days, the business program will contain presentations covering: new developments, major projects, climate change, safety, technical integrity and international developments. The social program, another highlight of the pipeline industry, will provide informative and entertaining tours for delegates’ partners, as well as the traditional four very different dinners over four very different evenings. These events provide an opportunity to meet new people and develop business networks in a convivial atmosphere.

The APIA 2009 Convention will continue the tradition of bringing together those involved in the pipeline industry, both nationally and internationally, onshore and offshore, and across the range of industry sectors.
