INPEX flags 2017 start-up for Ichthys

The spokesperson said INPEX is expecting to complete the concreting for the project’s onshore LNG storage tanks in early February, following the completion of the project’s 890 km gas export pipeline in November 2015.

The project’s 890 km, 1,070 mm diameter gas export pipeline runs from the Ichthys gas field to the onshore LNG processing facility located at Blaydin Point on the Middle Arm Peninsula, Darwin.

Construction on the pipeline was undertaken by Saipem Australia.

The first block of the keel for the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) facility was laid in early 2014 at the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) shipyard in Okpo, South Korea, where the FPSO facility is being constructed.

Joint venture interests in the project are INPEX (63.445 per cent), TOTAL (30 per cent), CPC (2.625 per cent), Tokyo Gas (1.575 per cent), Osaka Gas (1.2 per cent), Chubu Electric (0.735 per cent) and Toho Gas (0.420 per cent).
