In 2004 HMI was appointed the distributor for Betek Tungsten tipped tools. The entire product range is made in Germany, at a site in Aichhalden in the Black Forest Area.
A team of 140 employees is constantly finding new ways to fine-tune the activities in development, production and sales in order to achieve greater efficiency, greater flexibility and greater customer focus. Product innovations are created in the process that go on to set new benchmarks for progress with users all around the globe.
Betek achieved its first market successes with tungsten carbide tools for coal mining. Little by little, the special tools portfolio was successfully expanded to cover other industries and sectors, above all special tools for road construction, tunnelling, civil engineering, HDD, surface mining, trench cutting, crushing technology, recycling, agriculture and the production of biomass.
Today, Betek tool systems are used around the world in all application sectors where milling, drilling, cutting, trenching or crushing take place. Using state-of-the-art equipment, Betek manufactures more than 20 million tools annually on a production area of more than 10,000 square metres.
Betek has had immense success with trenching tools, offering a wide range of round shank bits, designed for difficult jobs using wheel and chain equipped trench cutting vehicles. The high quality of the tools guarantees long service-life and excellent productivity. Betek’s tools are being used extensively in the Middle East, cutting a range of rock formations.
One of Betek’s many areas of success has been the rapid turnaround when designing a new pick. Clients can expect to see a custom pick delivered within five weeks from drawing to delivery.
