Both Genesis heads are returning to Australia after five years at the New Zealand company, headquartered in Auckland.
Genesis CEO Marc England said he wanted to thank both Clark and Magill for their “significant contribution” to the business.
“Both have an immense impact at Genesis, initially running two halves of the Retail Business together, before moving into the Power Generation and Technology & Digital roles they are currently in,” England said.
England said the choice to leave for Nigel was influenced COVID-19 travel restrictions.
“Nigel is keen to be closer to family in Australia after a couple of years of difficult travel conditions brought on by Covid,” England said.
“Nigel has agreed to see through an extended transition to a replacement until the end of this financial year on 30 June 2022.”
England said Magill was leaving due to other career opportunities in Australia.
“James has accepted a leadership opportunity focused on the energy transition based in Australia and so will be leaving Genesis in February 2022,” England said.
Both an external and internal search for replacements is underway.
