FEED phase begins on Bowen Pipeline

The approximately 500 km, 1,067 mm diameter pipeline is planned to supply gas from the Central Queensland’s Bowen Basin to LNG facilities on Curtis Island, Queensland, with WorleyParsons awarded the FEED contract.

“This pipeline FEED contract is another important step towards commercialising Arrow’s significant gas reserves in the Bowen Basin,” Arrow Chief Executive Officer Andrew Faulkner said.

“The proposed pipeline, up to 500km, is a key piece of infrastructure in Arrow’s plans to bring gas from the Bowen Basin to market.”

While Arrow LNG Project received Federal approval in December 2013, following State approval in March 2013, Royal Dutch Shell confirmed it had postponed its final investment decision for the project in February 2014, citing economic and inflation risks for its decision.
