The company now has around 25 environmental specialists. These include ecologists, contaminated land specialists, hydro-geologists and environmental engineers, planners and auditors working on projects across Australia.
Fyfe Managing Director Mark Dayman said the firm appointed its first ecologist in 2012 to undertake base-line studies on behalf of oil and gas clients operating in remote areas of South Australia and Queensland.
“By April last year, this number had expanded to five and we introduced an Environment Services division,” he said.
“In June the opportunity arose to employ another 11 specialists…more specialists have since been employed from other sources.
“Since then, work in the environmental space has been growing steadily, particularly for oil and gas, resources and property sector clients.”
Mr Dayman said this activity included environmental impact assessments, construction environmental management plans, flora and fauna surveys, assessing contamination and remediation strategies and the provision of environmental auditing services for a diversity of projects.
