EA for Gloucester Basin pipeline

The Gloucester Basin CSG Project plans include 60-90 gas wells and gathering lines, a central processing facility and a 100 m wide pipeline corridor within the 1 km concept corridor from Stratford to Hexham.

Two sites for the central processing facility are being considered. Depending on the final location, the pipeline is expected to be 95-100 km in length.

The EA has concluded that the proposed plans are environmentally acceptable, provided that the recommended safeguards are implemented. The project is now on public exhibition.

AGL Energy’s permit area in the Gloucester Basin covers an area of 1,050 sq km, with over 200 sq km of prospective coal measure sequence, approximately 100 km north of Newcastle.
