The SB-60 BP has an operating weight of 55,210 kg with a maximum lifting capacity of 60,000 kg. It is equipped with a standard 9 m boom that features a hydraulically folding boom support prop. The pipelayer can be used in the standard form whereby the boom prop is locked in the retracted position. Alternately, the boom prop may be engaged to enable extreme lifting with the operator simply selecting a control lever at their side to extend the prop to its working position.
The lift capabilities of the SB-60 BP – while in standard pipelayer working configuration with the boom prop retracted – equates to 40,800 kg up to 2.13 m. With the boom prop extended this lifting capacity increases to 60,000 kg in the 2.2 – 6.0 m load overhang range. However, Dressta said that the recommended range for ultimate safety and best productivity is 3.5 – 5.5 m.
The SB-60 BP pipelayer also offers numerous options to suit the individual needs of each client, ranging from electronic safe load indication to air-conditioned operator cabins. In addition, Dressta is able to cater for specific requests regarding additional items not generally available as standard optional equipment.
Dressta pipelayers benefit from modular power train systems whereby individual drive train components can be removed without the need to disturb adjacent components. Rigid mounted track frames ensure stability in the most arduous conditions and a resilient four-piece pipelayer frame is mounted to both the track frame and main-frame to accommodate hydraulic winches and counterweights on one side of the machine. The rugged box-section boom is symmetrically mounted on the opposite side for simplified removal and installation.
Dressta said that the SB-60 BP’s sophisticated pipelaying equipment includes independent hydraulic winches for the hook and boom with multiple-disc brakes for reliable, smooth operation and positive retention of boom and hook. The operator’s cab offers enhanced operation, with low effort pilot pressure hydraulic controls. Work safety has also been improved through the incorporation of emergency free-fall on the load line, an automatic boom kick-out to prevent boom damage, an automatic overwind device and a load indicating device.
