The company shared images of a pipeline wrapped in the tape that had been in service for more than 50 years but showed no corrosion and no metal loss.
Denso’s Petrolatum Tapes have been providing below ground and underwater protection for pipelines and other infrastructure for around 80 years, with the tape wrap systems applicable by hand to most surfaces in a wide variety of temperature environments.
Largely unchanged as products, Denso said the tapes remain a long term a cost-effective solution to corrosion in the harshest environments.
