The ConocoPhillips operated Bayu- Undan field located in the Timor Sea transports dry gas via the Bayu-Darwin export pipeline. The export pipeline comprises 26 inch 500 km submarine line from the Bayu-Undan offshore platform to an onshore facility at Wickham Point. The maximum water depth along the pipeline route is 135 m.
The pipeline is coated with 3LPP and CWC for 15 km from the platform and the remainder length up to Wickham with AE + CWC various thickness. The pipeline is designed for 90oC inlet temperature, gradually tapering off along the route. The transition point for change in the coating occurs at 65o C.
The design life of the pipeline and coatings is 25 years.
Extensive third party lab and field PQTs were performed by owner and contractor representatives prior to commencement of jointing works currently in progress.
