The King’s Quay project is located in deepwater in the US Gulf of Mexico and will be operated by Murphy Oil Corporation subsidiary Murphy Exploration & Production Company – USA.
Corinth’s agreement covers approximately 30 km of 16 inch (406 mm) HFW linepipe, which will be used for the subsea export pipeline.
The pipeline will transport gas from the King’s Quay Floating Production System to an existing pipeline system located in the Green Canyon at a depth of approximately 1,250 m.
Corinth Pipeworks said it is one of the deepest ever reel-lay, subsea projects to use HFW linepipe for a flowline application.
The pipes will be manufactured and coated in ultra-long lengths at Corinth’s facility in Greece and then delivered directly to Subsea 7’s spoolbase in Texas for fabrication and subsequent reel-lay installation.
The award is a significant milestone in Corinth’s offshore presence in the Gulf of Mexico region.
