The agreement was originally executed in August 2020 and provides the framework for commencing the gas sales agreements from the Sole Gas Project and commissioning the OGPP as soon as possible.
Also outlined in the agreement is the sharing of costs and revenue while OGPP proceeds towards commissioning completion and sets aside potential claims and entitlements available to either party from existing project documents.
With an expiry date set for 1 May 2021, Cooper said it has now advised APA that it has exercised its option to extend the agreement to 1 May 2022.
The Sole project was originally scheduled to begin full commercial operations towards the end of 2019; however, firm gas supply from the project has been delayed by the OGPP’s failure to meet performance requirements.
Earlier this month, Cooper said production stability was progressively improving following the reconfiguration of the plant’s two sulphur absorbers.
While periodic cleaning of the absorbers was still required, production rates had been ranging from 32 to 39 TJ/day.
Cooper said it would continue to work with APA to achieve a nameplate capacity of 68 TJ/day.
