A Bundaberg Council spokesperson told PPO News that the pipeline remains on schedule, with initial alignment clearing work underway. Work proper is not due to not start until April 2016, after the wet season, and is scheduled for completion in August. The pipeline will begin at the existing 274 km, 114 mm diameter Wide Bay Pipeline, situated west of Bundaberg, and extend through to the Port of Bundaberg. The construction contract is yet to be awarded. Meanwhile, Bundaberg Council is also organising an infrastructure agreement with the Knauf plasterboard factory, which was contingent upon the approval of the pipeline. Work on the factory is also on track to commence early next year.
