As part of the Service Stream Group, Comdain Infrastructure- an engineering and asset management company- will continue to provide operations, maintenance, and capital works services for Multinet’s 10,000 km of natural gas networks.
This includes Melbourne’s inner and outer east, the Yarra Ranges and South Gippsland which will distribute gas to over 700,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers.
The five-year agreement is for an initial two-year period, with an option to extend for a further three years.
Multinet distributes natural gas to over 687,000 customers in Melbourne’s inner and outer east, the Yarra Ranges and South Gippsland.
The network transports gas from the high-pressure transmission network operated by APA to residential, commercial and industrial customers.
Comdain’s responsibilities include construction design, connecting new customers and upgrading the network as necessary, metering replacement programs, pipeline patrol, planned and unplanned maintenance for over 160 km of transmission pressure pipelines and 9800 km of distribution mains to residential, commercial and industrial customers.
Melbourne’s network services company Service Stream announced in December 2019 that it was buying Comdain infrastructure and completed the acquisition for $161 million.
Comdain Infrastructure is a major provider of integrated asset lifecycle services to Australia’s utility asset owners and operators. It’s a provider of engineering, design and construction, as well as operations and management of gas and water infrastructure services.
