Clarke Energy consolidates global coal gas focus

Over the past few years, Clarke Energy has grown rapidly and now operates in more than seven countries. Although it has an international capability, Clarke Energy believes strongly in providing local
service and employment. Due to continued growth and expansion in Australia and New Zealand, new purpose designed premises in Adelaide were opened in March this year as the new Head Office to also include the equipment sales, projects, engineering, parts and service support functions for the operations.

With the continued development and utilisation of coal gas from coal seams and coal mines, Clarke Energy has again recently demonstrated their leadership in this field with the award of the EPC contract for the 30 MW CSG Daandine Power Station for Arrow Energy.

Acknowledging the award of this recent contract Managing Director of Clarke Energy Australia Greg Columbus said, “While we have had a presence in Australia since 2000 it is only really recently Clarke Energy have made the market aware of our class leading knowledge, experience and superb GE Jenbacher products we have within our group, and more specifically operating on coal gas.”

“In the UK and Australia, Clarke Energy with GE Jenbacher equipment has the majority of sites operating on coal gas. Apart from the Arrow Energy project in Australia, we are currently commissioning a 12 MW coal mine site in Queensland, operate and maintain two other coal mine sites and are in final negotiations on another two projects to begin later this year. This will total seven sites we will operate and maintain on behalf of our clients on coal gas, giving unparalleled experience in this industry.”

Clarke Energy is the distributor for GE Jenbacher gas engines in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, France, India, Ireland and Nigeria.
