Located 160 km south of Newman, WA, the Beyondie Sulphate of Potash Project (BSOPP) gas pipeline has a diameter of 100 mm and runs from an inlet station at the Goldfields Gas Pipeline (GGP) interface to a tie-in near the SOP purification plant’s delivery station.
Pipe for the project is being supplied by Edgen Murray, while WA-based contractor Pipecraft is undertaking the pipe installation works.
Kalium Lakes said practical completion was achieved three weeks ahead of schedule and under budget, with environmental rehabilitation work now well underway.
Pipecraft’s demobilisation from site is anticipated for early November and APA Group has now mobilised to site to commence construction of the metering facility and tie-in to the GGP.
Primero is also mobilising to site for the construction of the gas inlet and delivery stations, with the company to work with APA once these stations are completed to commission the infrastructure and enable gas supply for power generation on the project.
Kalium Lakes anticipates first production from its BSOPP project to occur in the Q3 2021.
