Bredero Shaw in full swing

The North Queensland Gas Pipeline (NQGP) project was given a flying start with the completion of coated pipe manufacture due by June this year. With over 200 km of coated pipe stockpiled at Bredero Shaw’s Kembla Grange facility, there is great opportunity to accelerate the construction program.

Two coating systems have been utilised for NQGP; Naprock 2 Layer FBE system which is to be used for high abrasive directional drill work, and 3-Layer trilaminate for the mainline.

Bredero Shaw has exceeded production forecasts for this project. This performance can be attributed to the following factors –

  • An experienced team of employees, many of whom have worked several of the major pipelines that have been completed by Bredero Shaw in recent years.
  • An effective quality system that controls all processes throughout the business with special focus on inspection, testing and continual improvement. The system is now also accredited to ISO 9001: 2000.
  • Another contributing factor to the efficiency of the Kembla Grange facility is the focus and drive Bredero Shaw has placed on the safety of its employees and the environment in which they work.

“We believe with the experienced team we have in place, the quality systems we comply to and the safe environment we have created, Bredero Shaw will be able to rise up to any challenge it faces.”
