Beattie Transport: seamless, state-wide transport solutions

The Beattie Transport Group is made up of MB Logistics, Beattie Transport and All Trans Heavy Haulage. The collaboration of these companies has afforded customers the benefits of using a single carrier – a seamless transport and logistics service, with simple communication and the ability to meet customers’ increasingly specific needs. A family-owned South Australian business, MB Logistics offers state-wide, fully-integrated transport logistic solutions to accommodate its customers’ diverse range of transport requirements.

Beattie first started in Adelaide in 1969 as a fledgling operator contracting a single vehicle. From here, Malcolm Beattie commenced an interstate linehauler with his first client in L&V Ceiling Supplies, Wingfield, carting acoustic plaster ceiling tiles into Sydney. In the 1970s, Mr Beattie began working with Mayne Nickless, a tanker division carrying bulk wine, LPG, and dangerous goods between all capital cities. From this expansion, Beattie evolved to become a well-established national interstate transport provider during the 1980s.

Beattie has now invested in regional and metropolitan infrastructure to support the expanding network of logistic services it offers to remote areas, with depots and partnering relationships located in Adelaide, Alice Springs, Brisbane, Darwin, Kalgoorlie, Karratha, Launceston, Mackay, Melbourne, Mount Gambier, Mount Isa, Murray Bridge, Perth, Pimba, Port Hedland, Roma and Sydney.

A number of national companies that have traditionally benefited from Beattie’s transport and logistics services have fuelled the growth of its “˜BOOT’ (build, own, operate and transfer) capital investment project solutions. MB Logistics is renowned for outside-the-square thinking, having purpose-built a number of strategically located facilities to satisfy the flexibility requirements of its clients, with the newest facilities being situated in Pimba, South Australia, and Roma, Queensland. While these operations are still in the development stages, the company said that they are well positioned to satisfy the growing regional requirements of the resources sector in these areas.

Combining physical assets, market awareness and distribution expertise, MB Logistics offers transport solutions that are service-orientated and executed at the best total cost. Many transport providers focus on particular legs, or particular transport tasks, and shippers will spread the distribution function across multiple providers. But MB Logistics can provide a competitive distribution solution that combines the seamless service benefits of dealing with a single provider. The company has the skills and resources to undertake linehaul service to or from a capital city, regional area, remote site or local distribution support.

MB Logistics operates and maintains a large core fleet of modern prime movers and trailing equipment, supported with a diverse contractor base of trailer haulers, sub-contractors and pilot escorts. MB Logistics manages all its own vehicle mass specification accreditations, vehicle registrations, permits, and driver licensing in-house, along with its fleet management services.

MB Logistics’ modern fleet includes rigid tray tops, single flat top trailers, single drop deck trailers, B-doubles, road trains, extendable flat top trailers, extendable drop deck trailers, tautliners, tri-axle and quad-axle floats including dollies, tippers, and all-wheel drive vehicles.

Today, MB Logistics represents a significant fleet operation within the national transport logistics heavy haulage sector providing services for the following:

* Over-dimensional loads;
* Oil and gas;
* Fleet hire and workshop;
* Construction;
* Pre-cast industry;
* Pipeline – water and gas lines;

Today, the company is only limited by its imagination as it moves sailing boats, house boats, all manner of pipe, re-locatable buildings, dangerous goods, earthmoving, and heavy industrial, and mining equipment. The company is in constant movement, performing over-dimensional services throughout Australia everyday for the mining, exploration and geothermal industries.
