APC commissioned the construction of Aussie 1 in early 2007 in Singapore. The barge is designed to operate in relatively shallow inshore environments and can accommodate up to 292 persons in ensuited accommodation.
A launch ceremony for Aussie 1 took place in mid-2008, with commissioning and extensive testing has following. Aussie 1 is due to be introduced into service this year on a Bass Strait project.
Late 2008 also saw APC awarded the camp contract for the Stage 5B expansion of the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP). The project will involve four mobile camps over the eleven loops. APC previously provided camps for other stages of the expansion of the DBNGP.
In addition, APC is again working with Nacap, this time on the Wallumbilla to Darling Downs Pipeline.
