ATHC diversifies to become a leading transport contractor for the pipeline industry

Providing heavy haulage services, pipe haulage and general freight services, Australian Truck Hire Company (ATHC) has grown to be a popular option for transport needs in the pipeline industry.

ATHC has grown its fleet in the last four months, and now operates 16 full-time drivers on the road.

This is due to the recent demobilisation and mobilisation of large gas pipeline projects in central Queensland and Victoria, and along with its Western Australian services, ATHC’s trucks have become a household name around the country in shipping specialised pipeline equipment for its clients.

ATHC Managing Director Kevin Kealy says it has always been his passion to own and operate a successful and safe transport company.

“This has not come easy with the ever changing rules and regulations in the industry,” said Mr Kealy.

“It’s a full-time job keeping up with the changes in every state and the accreditations we need to uphold to transport the equipment as well as consistently monitoring our fatigue level management plans so we are meeting all regulation standards, also having a good maintenance program with the proper equipment is key as well.”

As a part of its transport solutions program, ATHC offer short and long term storage for their clients, with large depots in Brisbane, Roma, Perth, Darwin and Melbourne.

With the ability to house all of its clients equipment in those areas until the next project starts, ATHC saves its clients large transport costs in commuting back and forth from base to site.

Mr Kealy believes that the transport industry is much the same as the hire industry, where one has to be flexible and listen to the client’s needs and take the worry off the client.

ATHC is looking forward to growing its transport division much the same as its hire division to provide a safe option for all work sites across Australia with every vehicle for every project.
