The upstream component of the project is approximately 67 per cent complete, with the downstream component approximately 68 per cent complete, Origin Chief Executive Officer LNG David Baldwin said in the company’s quarterly report for the period ending 31 March 2014.
Recent progress on the upstream section of the project has included the completion of the pipeline spur to enable receipt of gas from the Ruby Jo facility once commissioning of the facility has been completed.
Additionally, construction on the mainline and laterals was completed on 8 April 2014, with cleaning and hydrotesting currently underway.
The APLNG Project is a joint venture between Origin Energy, ConocoPhillips and Sinopec, and includes a plan to develop a two-train CSG-to-LNG project utilising Origin’s Queensland CSG reserves and resources. The LNG plant will involve two trains, to be constructed using Cascade technology, and will have the capacity to produce up to 9 MMt/a of LNG.
