APGA presents final POG webinar

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, APGA developed a webinar series as an alternative to its annual POG Seminar, of which this year would have been the 18th edition.

Instead, the series – with a theme of ‘Pipeline operations and maintenance: Solving the challenges’ – featured five weekly webinars containing the same content as the original seminar program, delivered virtually through Zoom.

The first four weeks were successful with a large show of participants and increasing interaction by using virtual networking features, such as the ability to ask questions to presenters in real time.

After a successful four weeks, the final POG webinar took place yesterday with a strong showing of participations and increased interaction using the virtual networking features.

Led by the Chair, Beach Energy Victorian Operations Lead Sam Maloney, the final webinar began with a presentation from Santos Process Safety Engineer Katie Gilbar and Santos Pipeline Operation Engineer Laura Fois.

Ms Gilbar and Ms Fois discussed how to support a strong process safety culture through visible risk management of Santos’ pipeline assets.

Following this discussion, Australian Gas Infrastructure Group HS&E Manager Louise Watson presented a paper on implementing a process safety framework in collaboration with HSE to create a positive HSE experience.

The series was then concluded, with recordings of all webinars now being made available on the website shortly.
