Anode and LineTech close the Trans-Tasman gap

Anode has extensive experience in cathodic protection and corrosion management in the oil, water, gas and marine industries within the Australian and South Pacific regions. With the support of LineTech, Anode will offer engineering services in design, supervision of installation contractors, commissioning and assessment of new and existing cathodic protection systems throughout the Australasian market. LineTech’s focus is transmission and distribution electricity lines. The company also provides civil, structural and condition assessment; asset management; and, project and management services, as well as corrosion minimisation and coating management services.

Electrical hazard studies – pipelines and public utilities

Key to the AELT Alliance is a synergy of corrosion management services, and a desire for both LineTech and Anode to expand their presence in the Australasian market place. In addition, both partners have senior representation and input into the revision of the AS4853 standard for evaluation and assessment of electrical hazards for operation of underground and above ground pipelines.

LineTech has extensive design experience in this area, and has developed recognised software to allow their engineering team to undertake detailed analysis and electrical studies. Anode’s experience of pipeline corrosion management will contribute crucial data to the alliance, and allow the integration of the practical aspects of required remediation for each project.

Greater strength in the markets

The AELT Alliance will provide both organisations with greater capacity to service both Australia and New Zealand, supported by the extensive experience of LineTech and Anode’s respective technical staff across various industries, as well as strong established market positions.

Anode Managing Director Wayne Burns said “This alliance will bring together two groups of highly technical and experienced personnel. It will improve the engineering capacity of both companies to service the Australian, New Zealand and Pacific markets and allow for significant growth opportunities.”

Expanding presence

With Anode’s established offices in Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia, LineTech offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, and Christchurch, plus a combined wide customer base throughout Australia and the Pacific, the two partners are confident that the AELT Alliance will help position both companies to improve and expand their services.

LineTech Chief Executive Richard Gibbons said “We have for some time been providing services to the Australian electricity transmission line market, and the AELT Alliance provides us with a greatly expanded local Australian presence.”

Mr Burns said “The signing of this alliance represents a significant milestone for both organisations. 2010 is shaping up to be a busy year with both companies set to take on joint projects from April.”
