The contract is part of a wider scope of works awarded to Subsea 7 to design, procure, install and commission a 22 km, 18 inch (457 mm) corrosion resistant alloy gas transmission flowline and umbilical system at the Julimar field, located approximately 200 km offshore Western Australia.
Airborne’s contract is for the design, manufacture and delivery of two 2 inch (50 mm) 10,000 psi thermoplastic composite pipe (TCP) jumpers, to be used for the monoethylene glycol injection service.
Airborne Vice President for Asia-Pacific and Middle East Fabienne Ellington said the company was pleased to be the first to deliver TCP technology to the Australasian region.
“As part of our business strategy, we have been focusing on the opportunities in Australia as a major oil and gas hub, as well as an upcoming LNG growth market,” she said.
“This is a landmark win for Airborne Oil & Gas and puts us firmly on the map in Australia.”
The jumpers will be deployed later this year.
Subsea 7 was contracted by Woodside for the Julimar project in March 2019.
