Gas will be sent on the pipeline for the Brisbane market on 17 September, with the first truckload of LPG to be loaded at the plant for sale the following week. In light of re-commissioning at the plant, AGL Queensland Operations Manager Adam Stepanoff said the refinery will supply gas to AGL’s domestic customers for many years to come. AGL bought Wallumbilla from Santos in 2011 to process produced gas from the Silver Springs reservoir and surrounding Surat gas fields. The refinery is built to strip heavy liquid gasses off produced gas before it is put into the domestic gas pipeline. Construction work on the overhauled refinery took two years.
