Through a joint engagement program, Australian Gas Networks (AGN), AusNet Services, and MultiNet Gas Networks (MGN) have developed draft plans for the Victorian natural gas distribution network for July 2023 to June 2028.
These draft plans are now open for public consultation until March 7, 2022 and are an important part of the group’s stakeholder engagement program.
“Our draft plans were developed following a significant customer and stakeholder engagement program, with will continue Intel we present our final plan to The Australian Energy Regulator in June 2022,” a spokesperson for AGIG said.
“Our draft plans generate upfront price cuts of 8 per cent and 1 per cent (after inflation) for AGN and MGN customers respectively, while still delivering on safety, reliability and customer service. We are also looking to the future and delivering a framework for the decarbonisation of our network.”
Victoria has the highest domestic natural gas usage in the nation, in manufacturing, construction, agriculture and more.
Every five years, Victoria’s gas distribution businesses submit the plans for their network for endorsement.
AGIG owns and operates infrastructure that delivers gas to more than 2 million Australian homes and businesses.
