Approximately 70 pipeliners attended the dinner to hear from previous APIA President and SEA Gas General Manager Ashley Kellett, who presented a highly engaging talk on current positive developments in the Australasian pipeline industry.
Mr Kellett spoke on APIA’s role in strategising the future Australasian pipeline industry, and highlighted the Association’s recent revision of its objectives and how these will be more adaptable to future developments in the industry.
Mr Kellett said that 2012 was a particularly important year for the industry to review the impact of the ongoing global economic crisis and the effect this was having on the Australian economy and on Australia’s pipeline sector. He also discussed the impact that these movements are having on the manufacturing sector, and how this is in stark contrast to the exponential growth witnessed in the country’s various gas developments, reflecting increasing demand on the other sectors of the pipeline industry.
Discussion also moved toward the industry’s offshore interests, and how it is imperative that these interests remain within the dominion of the APIA.
The Adelaide Dinner was proudly sponsored by GPA Engineering and Denso.
