Digital convention remains social hotspot

Despite going virtual this year, the APGA Annual Convention and Exhibition will still hold its famous social gatherings, with a digital twist.

With Australia’s rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation limiting the possibility of in-person events for the immediate future, APGA has made the decision to go digital in 2020 for its marquee event to be held 19-23 October.

Despite the slimmed down program, the association is ensuring attendees can still enjoy many of the aspects that make the convention one of the pipeline industry’s premier events, and that includes its famous social events.

This year, the Fancy Dress night will go ahead via Zoom on Tuesday 20 October, with an emphasis on wigs, caps, hats and masks.

The Convention Happy Hour will also run over Zoom on to close the event on Friday 23 October, with all attendees encouraged to join in the closing of the event for another year.

Although nothing can replace the fun of seeing industry peers and friends in person, APGA’s virtual networking experiences have been a huge success so far this year and if they are anything to go by, these will be unmissable.
