Transborders teams with SBM Offshore

Transborders Energy has entered into a new partnership with Singly Buoy Moorings (SBM Offshore) to purse deployment of its FLNG Solution.

The FLNG Solution provides a pre-engineered 1.5 million t/a floating LNG facility with a regulatory approval execution plan and a package of streamlined commercial arrangements to gas resource owners.

The new partnership agreement will see SBM Offshore designated as the exclusive operation and maintenance services contractor for the FLNG facilities, as well as the exclusive contractor for the front-end engineering and design (FEED) and engineering, procurement and constriction services relating to turret mooring and hull scopes.

Other strategic partners on the project include Kyushu Electric Power and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, along with TechnipFMC and Add Energy.

“We are very pleased to welcome SBM Offshore as our strategic partner,” said Transborders Managing Director Daein Cha.

“SBM Offshore is the global leader for design, supply, installation, operations and leasing of floating production systems and is strategically committed to develop and operate our FLNG facilities.”

Transborders said the company would be able to convert gas resources into final investment decision-ready projects within 24 months of the FLNG Solution’s deployment.
