Worley will have a new CEO later this month following the retirement of Andrew Wood.
Moving up from his role has Worley COO, Chris Ashton will become the company’s new CEO and Managing Director effective 24 February 2020.
Mr Ashton has been with Worley since 1998 with degrees and credentials from the University of Sunderland, the Cranfield School of Management and Harvard Business School.
Mr Wood, who will stay on with the company in an advisory role until the end of the financial year, said he had been fortunate at Worley.
“My time at Worley has been exhilarating and challenging,” said Mr Wood.
“We have created a unique global business that will continue to make a significant difference in meeting the world’s future energy, chemicals and resource challenges.”
Worley Chair John Grill thanked Mr Wood for his “significant and valuable” contribution to the business.
“Under Andrew’s strong leadership, we successfully restructured Worley to realign our operations through a period of rapid change in the markets we serve, and then doubled the size of the business through the acquisition of the Energy, Chemicals and Resources division of Jacobs to create the global leader across Worley’s core market segments,” said Mr Grill.
“The board is looking forward to working with Chris as we enter a very dynamic period for Worley.
“After a thorough internal and external search process undertaken as part of our standard succession planning processes, Chris was identified as the successor for the CEO role.”
