Edgen Murray wins Yamarna pipe supply contract
APA Group has awarded Edgen Murray Australia (EMA) the pipe supply contract for the Yamarna Gas Pipeline Project in Western Australia.
Edgen Murray will manage all aspects of the linepipe manufacture, coating, shipping, onshore logistics and pipe inspection on delivery for a 198 km Grade X52 high-pressure DFBE coated pipeline delivered to stockpile sites near Laverton and the mine site.
“We are very pleased to again provide our locally-based technical resources and project management to the project; to support APA to deliver the project on time and on budget,” said EMA’s spokesperson.
Once construction is complete, the pipeline will transport gas through the Goldfields and Murrin Murrin Pipelines to power a 45 MW Power Station to be built for the Gruyere Gold Project.
APA will design, build, own and operate the 198 km pipeline and a 45 MW gas-fired power station, at a total construction cost of around $180 million.
The Gruyere Gold Project is a 50:50 Joint Venture between Gold Road Resources and Gold Fields (Gruyere JV), and is located in the Yamarna greenstone belt of Western Australia, 200 km north east of Laverton and to the north of APA’s Eastern Goldfields Pipeline.
