OSD Pipelines has established a team of slurry pipeline specialists as part of a move to increase its market share in the global pipeline services industry.
OSD Pipelines has hired some of the world’s leading slurry pipeliners to spearhead its expansion into key resources markets in Australia, North America, South America and the Middle East. The company has offices in Brisbane, Calgary (Canada), Melbourne and Perth, and the new focus on the slurry business has been the catalyst for opening a new office in Santiago, Chile.
The OSD Slurry Group will offer three core services offerings:
- Project development – due diligence, owner’s engineer, feasibility studies, economic valuations, project approvals, risk management;
- Project execution – engineering, project management, construction management, procurement services, project approvals and project services;
- Asset services – operation services, land liaison, regulatory advice, technical audits and commissioning services.
Additional services are also available including slurry pipeline training and water management. In addition, a new Rheology laboratory has been established in Perth to further complement the Slurry Group’s services.
OSD Managing Director Brian O’Sullivan believes the company can achieve a prominent position in the global slurry pipeline market.
“We have acquired a new generation of slurry pipeline specialists with some of the most technically-skilled, yet commercially-focused people in the business,” he said.
OSD has been involved in slurry since 1998, working on numerous Australian projects including Century Zinc in Queensland, as well as Extension Hill and Karara iron ore, located in Western Australia.
