Fyfe is currently expanding rapidly in Australia, appointing Stephen Timms as it Business Development Manager and advertising its activities for the first time at the recent APIA convention in Alice Springs.
Fyfe has recognised for some time, that it needed some assistance in promoting the work it is doing in the oil and gas areas. It was not surprising therefore, that Fyfe approached Stephen Timms to undertake this activity. Stephen is well known in the oil and gas industry having worked in this sector for the past 35 years.
The first major promotion was a stand at the recent APIA convention in Alice Springs. This was an opportunity for Fyfe to promote all of its activities. Most people in the industry were familiar with Fyfe as a survey company but not as an engineering company. This promotion was very successful with more than 70 folders containing brochures on Fyfe’s activities in the areas of pipeline engineering, coal seam methane and oil and gas developments handed out to conference delegates.
Fyfe is an exciting organisation in terms of growth. What started out as a small survey company in 1980 has now grown to an engineering and survey company that now employs more than 110 people in South Australia and Queensland.
Although the workforce is evenly split between the traditional survey and oil and gas work, the fastest growing area is in oil and gas, where the workforce has almost doubled in the past 12 months.
Part of the reason for this high growth, is the increasing amount of work that Fyfe has obtained from oil and gas companies in South Australia and Queensland. Fyfe is well located to service this industry and the coal seam methane industry in these states, having offices in both the Cooper Basin (Moomba and Ballera) and Surat/Bowen Basin (Roma), to service these industries.
With so much exciting growth, it’s not surprising Fyfe have decided to locate its oil and gas group into new Adelaide CBD offices from early in 2007. The move ushers in an exciting new chapter in Fyfe’s story and establishes the business as a force into the future.
