Vinidex is renowned for a commitment toward technical advancement and product innovation. The company has extensive programs examining new materials, processing technologies and manufacturing equipment to ensure its continued high standard in the pipe and fittings industry.
Recycling and re-using material
The company recognises the importance of incorporating environmental sustainability into its business, and materials used in pipe and fittings manufacturing are well suited for recycling.
Vinidex reprocesses all in-house processing scrap and has done so for over 30 years to minimise wastage. This scrap is granulated and re-used in the manufacturing process across Vinidex’s product range.
CSG industry
Vinidex supplies the CSG market with a large package of products including PE pipe available in a wide range of diameters, and fittings and valves, which are used to pipe the gas and water extracted from the coal seam. Vinidex has established a strong presence in the CSG sector in both Queensland and New South Wales in the last few years.
PE pipe has advantages for use in CSG applications as it is flexible, relatively lightweight and corrosion resistant. These properties offer significant advantages in the installation process. The flexibility of the pipe means that it can adapt to variations in alignment and allows it to cope with ground movement.
In addition, the relative lightweight nature of PE pipe makes it easier to handle in installation and increases its suitability for more difficult terrains. At the same time, PE offers resistance to aggressive soil conditions. Its smooth bore provides excellent flow characteristics, which are important for the efficient supply of water and gas.
Vinidex manufactures PE pipe in Townsville, Brisbane, Wagga Wagga, Melbourne and Perth, and has the ability to supply product to all parts of Australia.
To meet the growing demand of the CSG business, Vinidex has increased its manufacturing capacity and signed a number of agreements to source and supply a complete range of products required by this sector. Vinidex considers the CSG market a critical part of its business and continues to seek opportunities to expand and to supply the market’s growing needs.
The company places high importance in working closely with customers to meet their requirements in product range, product availability, and quality, reliability of supply, innovation and supply chain.
