By Kristy Brincat, VIC YPF Committee head, OSD Pipelines The Australian Pipeliner — January 2011
The Young Pipeliner Forum Victorian Speaker Night was held at a Melbourne pub on 14 October 2010, with 25 attendees gathering to network and learn more about the industry.
The topic for the evening, the Australian Gas Industry Trust (AGIT), was chosen because the Trust offers an invaluable service to the gas industry, particularly in terms of development. The speakers for the night were AGIT Director Andrew Creek and myself [Kristy Brincat].
Mr Creek provided a history of AGIT and spoke about what it offers to people working in the gas industry, such as the annual GasSpeak and Study Tour events. He also spoke about the benefits of the events and how to apply.
Following Mr Creek’s speech, I presented on my experience with the 2009 Study Tour. For fear that the technical aspects of my presentation might be too boring for a Thursday evening, I stuck to talking about the diversity of the gas industry, what I discovered about my career, and the personal benefits I gained from the event.
