The Australian Pipeline Industry Association 2006 Annual Convention
The Australian Pipeliner — January 2007
The 2006 APIA Convention was held in Alice Springs from 14 – 17 October, and set a record for the total amount of attendees, with 491 delegates, partners and children in attendance.
Under the theme of ‘Australia’s Dynamic Pipeline Industry – Infrastructure for the Future’, a series of dynamic and interesting technical papers and a broad range of exhibition stands showcased the best of the industry’s research, expertise, products and services.
Delegates’ need for caffeine was clearly strong; the GPA Engineering sponsored coffee stand saw 8 kg of beans and over 1,000 cups served during the two days of business sessions.
A lively social program also provided plenty of opportunities for delegates to catch up and see Alice Springs during what was another successful annual convention.
