These self-contained holiday detectors streamline paint, epoxy and coating inspections because they are simple to set up, easy to use and lightweight. With either wetted flat or roller sponge electrode options, the SPY® Model 670 detects holidays with pinhole accuracy.

Inspectors can greatly reduce inspection time over a large flat surface area with a roller or multiple roller sponge electrode option, and changing over from a roller to a flat sponge electrode for contoured surface and tight space inspections is quick and easy.

Coating defects on coatings as thin as one mil can be detected with high accuracy and without harm to the coating. With the compact and lightweight unit, operator fatigue is significantly reduced, and one standard 9 volt battery powers these highly accurate detectors for hours.

When a holiday is found, an electrical path is completed activating a signal light and horn. Water is used as a conductor on sponges for coatings ranging from 1 – 10 mils, while non-foaming wetting agents are recommended for coatings ranging from 11-20 mils.
